Freer | Sackler Turquoise Mountain PechaKucha

  • Freer | Sackler Museum 1050 Independence Avenue Southwest Washington, DC, 20560 United States (map)

Enhance your exploration of Turquoise Mountain: Artists Transforming Afghanistan by celebrating Afghanistan’s Independence Day (August 19). Spend a fun-filled afternoon making art, tasting Afghan food, hearing from artisans, watching musical performances, listening to traditional stories, and exploring the arts of Afghanistan.

The day concludes with PechaKucha-style presentations by social entrepreneurs working with artisans in Asia and beyond, who will share how they got involved and the lives they’ve seen changed. Join Alliance for Artisan Enterprise Director Peggy Clark for her PechaKucha presentation at 5:00 pm!

Learn more about the day's activities on the Freer | Sackler website, and discover the Turquoise Mountain: Artists Transforming Afghanistan exhibition in the Sackler Gallery through January 29, 2017!
